Spring Semester Doodles

All through the semester I doodle and doodle and doodle. These are only a few of probably hundreds of such doodles, but they give an idea of what I can do when I'm not making a real effort to produce art but am rather just entertaining myself.

I sometimes draw beautiful things. Usually that comes in the form of trees.

This is a lot of orange. Enough to burn a person's eyes out. You might want to wear sunglasses.

First Art Assignment!

So, here is a low quality scan of a picture I drew for Art 110. I'm pleased with the result in the sketchbook, but I am not happy with the scan. Oh well. Nothing is perfect.

I don't think the plate turned out terribly well in either the sketchbook or the scan, but it had really wonky curves around the edge that were difficult to draw by eye. Also, the cake needs more value, as does the inside of the bowl. Anyhow, this is the first. It is pretty much the only still life I have ever done.
